The United States is the worst-hit country with the world’s highest number of COVID-19 cases and deaths, followed by Brazil and India, according to the Johns Hopkins University website.

In its latest update published on Sunday, the University said that the death toll from the coronavirus in the United Stated has reached just under 700,000, while the caseload was over 42.4 million, followed by Brazil with more than 600,000 deaths and 21 million cases, then India with about 500,000 deaths and 33 million cases.

On the global level, the website stated that the total number of global COVID-19 cases has surged to more than 228 million, while the death toll rose to over 4.6 million.
