Higher Education Minister Discusses Academic Cooperation with Senegalese Counterpart

Amman: Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Azmi Mahafza on Monday met with Senegal's Minister of Higher Education, Research and Innovation, Daouda Ngom, to discuss cooperation in higher education and scientific research.

According to Jordan News Agency, the meeting, held at the Ministry in Amman, focused on Jordan's ties with Senegal and addressed several issues of mutual interest. These included the exchange of academic expertise and students, expanding cooperation between universities and educational institutions, and exploring mechanisms for drafting and signing an executive programme and memos in higher education.

Mahafza emphasized the Ministry's commitment to attracting more Senegalese students to study at Jordanian universities and to facilitating their enrollment by addressing any challenges they may face. He highlighted that students from Muslim countries studying Sharia and the Arabic language are treated on par with Jordanian students in terms of tuition fees at public universities.

Currently, ninety-five Senegalese students are enrolled in various higher education institutions across the Kingdom.
