High-Scoring Matchweek Sees Al-Hussein Cement Top Spot in Pro League

Amman: The 14th round of the Jordan Professional Football League delivered an impressive 18-goal haul as title favorites continued their championship push.

According to Jordan News Agency, Al-Hussein strengthened their grip at the summit of the CFI Pro League table with a commanding 5-1 demolition of Al-Sareeh in Tuesday’s matchday. The league leaders put on a clinical finishing masterclass to maintain their five-point cushion at the top.

Wasim Al-Rialat broke the deadlock in the 21st minute before Yousef Abu Jalboush doubled the advantage deep into first-half stoppage time. After the interval, Abdulaziz Nday turned the contest into a rout with a quickfire brace in the 50th and 53rd minutes.

Julio Cesar completed the scoring spree in the 81st minute, while Yousef Al-Rawashdeh netted a consolation for the visitors in the 71st.

Elsewhere, Al-Salt bolstered their top-four credentials with a solid 2-0 victory over Al-Ahli, with Amadou Nias finding the net in the 72nd minute before Mohammad Abu Rizk sealed the
points nine minutes later.

Al-Jazeera blanked Al-Ramtha 3-0 in an impressive display. Amr Marei opened the scoring on the stroke of halftime, while Zaid Abu Abed doubled the advantage in the 53rd minute before Khaled Sayahin put the game beyond doubt in the 64th.

Shabab Al-Aqaba edged Magheer Al-Sarhan 2-1 in a tight contest. Abdul Rahman Al-Hassan fired the coastal side ahead in the 38th minute, and despite Mahmoud Freitekh’s 62nd-minute equalizer, Said Mantala snatched a dramatic stoppage-time winner.

In a late thriller, Shabab Al-Urdon salvaged a point against Al-Faisaly with a last-gasp equalizer. Munther Abu Amara appeared to have secured all three points for Al-Faisaly with a 90th-minute strike, only for Mohammad Taha to level in the sixth minute of added time.

Al-Wehdat closed out the round with a comfortable 2-0 win over Ma’an thanks to Muhannad Samreen’s first-half double in the 25th and 35th minutes.

The standings show Al-Hussein setting the pace with 34 points, followed by Al-Wehdat on 29. Al-
Salt, Al-Faisaly, and Al-Ramtha are locked in a three-way battle for third with 21 points each, while Al-Jazeera (19), Al-Ahli (18), and Shabab Al-Urdon (15) occupy mid-table positions. Ma’an and Shabab Al-Aqaba (both 11), Magheer Al-Sarhan (10), and basement club Al-Sareeh (9) complete the table.
