Amman: The Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, in collaboration with the founding States of the Global Initiative to Galvanize Political Commitment to International Humanitarian Law and the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), has announced that the High-Level Conference on Humanity in War will take place in Jordan on Monday, 7 December 2026.
According to Jordan News Agency, this significant gathering will host Heads of State and Government, uniting them to deliver a cohesive message emphasizing the essential role of war regulations in maintaining our collective humanity. The Conference is a segment of the Global Initiative, which was launched in September 2024 by Jordan alongside Brazil, China, France, Kazakhstan, and South Africa, in partnership with the ICRC. The Initiative aims to bolster political dedication to international humanitarian law and improve civilian protection during armed conflicts.
The founding States have called upon all nations to attend the Conference at the highest political level possible. This appeal underscores the critical nature of coordinated international efforts to safeguard humanity amid war.
