Amman: The Al Hussein Fund for Excellence (HFE) announced the winners of the fourth cycle of its Economic Research Awards during a ceremony attended by several banking, economic, and media figures.
According to Jordan News Agency, Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Jordan (CBJ) Khaldoun Al-Wshah highlighted the award's role in directing research towards applied economic issues that align with the priorities of economic decision-makers. Initiated in 2016, the award seeks to diagnose economic challenges and provide practical solutions. Al-Wshah emphasized that the award has evolved into a leading scientific platform that attracts researchers to delve deeper into economic topics.
Al-Wshah noted that the fourth cycle introduced new priority fields such as financial technology, the green economy, and the labor market, alongside traditional fields like monetary policy and the financial and banking sector. He praised the scientific level of Jordan's educational institutions and their contribution to economic decision-making. He also announced the launch of the fifth cycle for 2026, which will cover monetary policy, the banking sector, and financial technology, among other fields.
Yaghi, General Manager of the Al Hussein Fund for Excellence, expressed gratitude to the Board of Directors and the scientific committee for their dedication. He noted the significant participation in the fourth cycle, with 130 works submitted across various fields. The submissions included research papers, master's theses, and doctoral dissertations, with contributions from academic institutions, financial and banking institutions, and government entities.
The awards in the monetary policy field included research by Dr. Maher Al-Mahrouq and Dr. Ahmad Al-Majali, alongside others. In the financial and banking sector, research by Dr. Mahmoud Al-Saad and Dr. Ibrahim Khattab was recognized. The green economy field saw awards for research by Dr. Ayman Al-Khatib, while labor economics recognized work by Dr. Mohammad Awwad.
The digital economy and financial technology field included awards for research by Abdullah Al-Droubi. The Al Hussein Fund for Excellence, established in 1999, encourages creativity and excellence within the Jordanian banking sector, advancing sustainable development and supporting various fields.
