Head of Senate’s Jordanian-Saudi Committee and Saudi Envoy Discuss Strengthening Bilateral Ties

Amman: The Jordanian-Saudi Brotherhood Committee, chaired by Senator Jamal Sarairah, convened with the Saudi Ambassador to Jordan, Prince Mansour bin Khalid bin Farhan Al Saud, to explore avenues for advancing political and economic collaboration between Jordan and Saudi Arabia.

According to Jordan News Agency, Sarairah highlighted the historical and strategic partnership between the two nations, emphasizing the directives from His Majesty King Abdullah II, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz, and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman as a solid framework for enhancing mutual interests and fostering Arab integration.

During the discussions, Sarairah pointed out the role of parliamentary diplomacy in facilitating expertise exchange and aligning regional issue positions. He stressed that the ongoing economic and investment cooperation reflects a mutual commitment to sustainable development and broader regional prosperity.

On matters of regional stability, the Senator reiterated Jordan's commitment to diplomatic solutions to mitigate tensions and underscored the significance of the Hashemite Custodianship over Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem. He reaffirmed Jordan's support for the Palestinian pursuit of an independent, sovereign state based on the two-state solution.

Prince Mansour conveyed Saudi Arabia's pride in its deep-rooted relations with Jordan and confirmed the Saudi leadership's dedication to strengthening economic partnerships and investment opportunities that benefit both countries. He also noted the importance of active engagement with the Jordanian Senate and the activation of parliamentary partnerships to enhance bilateral coordination.

The meeting concluded with both parties commending the success of recent exchange visits, including the Jordanian committee's trip to the Saudi Shura Council, which they deemed essential for maintaining high-level communication and mutual understanding.
