Amman: Deputizing for Prime Minister Jaafar Hassan, Minister of Government Communication and Government Spokesperson Mohammad Al-Momani inaugurated the 14th “Jordanian Model Parliament” Conference at King’s Academy. The event gathered 55 public and private schools from across the Kingdom under the slogan: “Jordan First, Identity Always.”
According to Jordan News Agency, Al-Momani emphasized that the Model Parliament, launched in 2013, has evolved into a platform for deep discussions. He highlighted that the conference’s theme conveys a genuine message: prioritizing Jordan’s interests is paramount and strengthens the nation’s capability to serve its people, region, and humanitarian causes, which are integral to the national identity.
Al-Momani reiterated that Jordanians are intrinsically pan-Arab and that Jordan’s political discourse continually reflects its national identity, advocating for rights, especially the right to self-determination for all peoples, with particular emphasis on the Palestinian cause.
He further stated that the values of the Jordanian national identity are foundational, and Jordanians are proud to be descendants of the Great Arab Revolt, which aimed to rejuvenate the Arab nation and uphold humanitarian values. He articulated Jordan’s commitment to assisting the vulnerable and providing refuge to those in need, asserting, “We have never closed our doors to anyone in need.”
Al-Momani attributed Jordan’s unique stability, security, and ongoing political, economic, and administrative reforms, despite regional instability, to its prudent and balanced leadership, which consistently prioritizes the public good.
Additionally, he praised the strength of Jordan’s professional military, security, and civil institutions, along with the awareness and enlightenment of Jordanian citizens who value education, dialogue, and respect for diverse viewpoints.
The minister pointed to the recent incident in Ramtha as a testament to the professionalism of Jordanian state agencies and their prowess in combating extremism and terrorism while upholding tolerance and moderation, principles consistently championed by His Majesty King Abdullah II.
Al-Momani also highlighted the necessity of enhancing digital literacy and effectively utilizing digital media to advance Jordan’s values, principles, and national interests.
