Gov’t Communication Minister Highlights JRTV’s Role in Promoting Jordanian Political Discourse

Amman: Government Communication Minister Mohammad Momani emphasized the crucial role of the Jordan Radio and Television Corporation (JRTV) in conveying a balanced political discourse representative of Jordanian values. He highlighted JRTV’s importance at a Ramadan iftar banquet celebrating the 66th anniversary of Jordanian Radio.

According to Jordan News Agency, Momani noted that JRTV enhances public awareness by reflecting the Kingdom’s achievements and challenges. This, he stated, strengthens national identity, fortifies the relationship between society and the state, and inspires support for the Hashemite leadership.

Momani called for collaboration among JRTV employees to maintain high-quality content that aligns with the aspirations of the Jordanian people and boosts the Kingdom’s regional and global standing. He acknowledged Jordanian Radio’s historical significance as the Kingdom’s pioneering radio station and discussed plans for modernizing and expanding radio transmission, including enhancements to five major stations.

The minister emphasized the importance of these improvements in elevating media content quality and disseminating national messages effectively. He reiterated the government’s commitment to supporting media that accurately represents the nation and its people.

Momani stressed the vital role of radio and television stations, alongside public and commercial media organizations, in fostering patriotism and spreading national messages. He advocated for healthy competition among media entities to enhance content quality and foster creativity in addressing challenges.

Additionally, Momani highlighted Al Mamlaka TV’s contribution to Jordan’s media landscape, noting its role in enhancing the quality and professionalism of national television programming. He underscored the channel’s significance in achieving ambitious media objectives reflecting citizens’ aspirations.

Jarir Maraqa, former director general of JRTV, commended current director general Ibrahim Al-Buwarid for his efforts in advancing the organization’s media and professional performance. Maraqa also praised the staff for their dedication to effectively communicating Jordan’s message.

The event concluded with the honoring of several retirees, including former directors and program heads, for their contributions to JRTV. Attendees included Secretary General of the Government Communication Ministry Zeid Nawayseh, JRTV Director General Ibrahim Al-Buwarid, and other prominent media figures and journalists.
