Gov’t “committed” to follow royal directives: PM

Prime Minister, Bisher Khasawneh opened today’s cabinet meeting by congratulating His Majesty King Abdullah on his 60th birthday.

Khasawneh said: “We derive determination, enthusiasm and persistence from His Majesty King Abdullah II, who embodies the model we follow in work and achievement, serving the country and citizens, and moving with steady steps towards the future.”

“We always seek to achieve His Majesty’s ambitions for to a better future fro our citizens, and to overcome challenges that the country has gone through during the past ten years, due to multiple factors, most of which were regional, and Jordan borne its consequences,” Khasawneh added.

In this regard, the Prime Minister referred to His Majesty’s message, addressing the Jordanian people on Wednesday, in which he referred to the slowdown in progress over the past ten years “due to various considerations beyond our control”.

He expressed hope that Jordan would recover and achieve a better future in the Kingdom’s second centennial.

The premeir said the government will work relentlessly to implement the royal directive by reaching out to key sectors such as tourism, agriculture and transport, and to restore the existing comparative advantage in other sectors such as medical and health sectors, medical tourism and digitalization in order to keep abreast with the era of the digital economy.

He added that the government will immediately begin implementing His Majesty’s directives with regard to administrative modernization, raising administrative efficiency, enabling and stimulating local investment, attracting foreign investment, and prioritizing the respond to unemployment challenges through real partnerships with the private sector and the vital and productive sectors.

Khasawneh stressed that the government will not hesitate to take diligence and boldness in taking the correct, prompt and firm administrative decision, both in terms of procedures, and in everything related to providing the best services to citizens and various sectors.

On His Majesty direction to the Royal Hashemite Court to start organising a national workshop that brings together economic experts, in cooperation with the government, to devise a comprehensive vision and a roadmap for the coming years, the Prime Minister said the government is absolutely committed to following this royal directive, and it fully believes in its prudence and seriousness, and will work with the utmost effort to meet the aspirations and visions of His Majesty the King.
