Amman: The Prime Ministry held a press briefing on Monday with the participation of several ministers to announce the details of the government's 2026-2029 executive programme, which was launched under the patronage of His Majesty King Abdullah II.
According to Jordan News Agency, the briefing included Minister of Government Communication Mohammad Momani, Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Zeina Toukan, Minister of State for Public Sector Development Badriya Balbisi, Minister of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship Sami Samirat, Minister of Social Development Wafaa Bani Mustafa, and Director of the Government Performance and Achievement Monitoring Unit Raafat Daasan. They outlined the programme's focus on economic, administrative, and political modernisation.
Momani stated that the executive programme is an integral part of the state's overarching modernisation project. It includes pillars such as the Economic Modernisation Vision, Public Sector Modernisation and Digital Transformation Roadmap, and Social Protection Programme. The programme was developed through extensive consultation with hundreds of experts and specialists from both sectors.
Toukan detailed the Economic Modernisation Vision's second executive programme, which includes 182 initiatives across 25 sectors, implemented through 392 projects. The projects have an estimated investment value of JOD7.8 billion and focus on various sectors such as high-value industries, agriculture, and tourism.
Balbisi described the Public Sector Modernisation Roadmap's second executive programme as a transition from the foundation phase to implementation. It aims to enhance performance, service quality, and efficiency in public resource management. The roadmap includes initiatives such as the National Public Sector Modernisation Index and the National Academy of Government Administration.
Samirat highlighted digital transformation as a core pillar of the programme, with plans to digitise 100% of government services. The initiatives will focus on artificial intelligence, data, and advanced technologies to improve service quality and transparency.
Bani Mustafa emphasised the National Social Protection Strategy's role in modernisation efforts, focusing on expanding social protection programs and services. She announced the launch of the Jordanian Social Registry to enhance targeting accuracy and programme integration.
Daasan stated that the executive programme will be monitored through advanced technological tools, ensuring alignment with national priorities and enhancing transparency and accountability.
