German gov’t rolls out ‘largest’ stimulus package to combat inflation

The German government has approved an aid package, which Chancellor Schulz described as “the largest so far,” to cushion the blow of the price rise and inflation, according to Deutsche Welle (DW).

The German government revealed the third aid package of €65 billion to protect consumers and the national economy from the repercussions of high inflation.

This government aid package comes two days after Russian energy giant Gazprom announced the halting of gas supplies through the Nord Stream 1 pipeline as planned after three days of maintenance work.
