Amman: German Ambassador to Jordan Bertram von Moltke emphasized the necessity of ongoing dialogue, coordinated international efforts, and long-term strategic planning in tackling complex global challenges, while safeguarding state interests to ensure regional security and lasting international peace.
According to Jordan News Agency, Ambassador von Moltke made these remarks during a lecture at the Royal Jordanian National Defense College (RJNDC) titled "German Foreign Policy." The lecture was part of the National Defence Course 23 and was attended by the commandant, president, and members of the directing staff of the college. The ambassador discussed the security and strategic challenges facing Germany and Europe, highlighting regional and international threats and the crucial role of international cooperation in addressing issues such as nuclear proliferation and regional conflicts. He also spoke about the importance of major powers in confronting these challenges.
Ambassador von Moltke underscored Germany's active participation in NATO, the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, which he described as a shared interest of both the United States and Europe, crucial for confronting global challenges and regional crises. He commended Jordan's significant role and the strategic partnership between Jordan and Germany, which enhances regional security, supports moderation and counter-terrorism efforts, and aids in conflict resolution.
Furthermore, the ambassador lauded Jordan's humanitarian contributions during the Gaza war, including providing medical assistance and organizing evacuation operations. He noted that Jordan serves as a vital hub for international cooperation in addressing humanitarian and security crises.
The lecture concluded with an extensive discussion, during which Ambassador von Moltke answered questions and inquiries from participants in the National Defence Programme.
