According to Jordan News Agency, Austria opened the scoring in the 20th minute when Romano Schmid unleashed a strike from outside the penalty area, curling the ball past goalkeeper Yazeed Abulaila into the top corner.
Refusing to back down on their biggest footballing night in history, the national team fought back. The breakthrough came in the 50th minute when forward Ali Olwan embarked on a solo run from near the halfway line, cutting onto his right boot before smashing a shot off the inside of the far post to grab Jordan's first-ever World Cup goal.
