Foreign Minister Meets with Iranian Foreign Minister

Jeddah, – The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, on the sidelines of the urgent, open-ended extraordinary meeting of the Executive Committee of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.

The two sides discussed the current military escalation in Gaza and its surroundings, where Prince Faisal stressed during the meeting that the Kingdom is making possible efforts to communicate with all international and regional parties to stop the ongoing escalation, affirming the Kingdom’s stance rejecting targeting civilians in any way and taking innocent lives, in addition to the necessity of observing the principles of international humanitarian law.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs affirmed the Kingdom’s firm stance towards supporting the Palestinian cause and efforts to achieve a comprehensive and just peace that guarantees the Palestinian people obtaining their legitimate rights.

The meeting was attended by Undersecretary for Political Affairs, Dr. Saud Al-Sati.
