Amman: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and Expatriates Affairs Ayman Safadi received a phone call from Simon Harris, Ireland’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Trade, and Defense. The two sides discussed strategies to stop the region’s dangerous escalation.
According to Jordan News Agency, Safadi and Harris emphasized that in order to resolve the Iranian nuclear issue, the war must end and talks must resume. The two ministers also stressed the necessity of stepping up efforts to bring about a lasting ceasefire in Gaza and to enable the United Nations to provide humanitarian relief to the Strip right away.
Safadi and Harris talked about the perilous circumstances in the West Bank and emphasized the necessity of stopping any actions that threaten the two-state solution and cause the situation to worsen. Safadi commended Ireland for its unwavering support of the Palestinian people’s right to freedom and statehood in line with international law and UN resolutions, as well as the two-state solution.
The two ministers reaffirmed their ongoing efforts to build the partnership relationships that bind the two friendly nations together and to improve collaboration between them in a number of areas.
