FM conveys King’s message to Algeria president

Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi on Sunday conveyed the greetings of His Majesty King Abdullah to Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune.

The foreign minister also delivered a message from the King that dealt with ways to bolster relations between the two countries and efforts to activate joint Arab action to serve Arab causes.

In his meeting with Safadi, President Tebboune conveyed his greetings to His Majesty, stressing Algeria’s keenness to enhance cooperation with the Kingdom and work together to serve Arab causes and interests.

Safadi began a working visit to Algeria on Saturday evening, during which he held talks with his Algerian counterpart Ramtane Lamamra, on strengthening bilateral cooperation, Arab causes and preparations for the Arab summit to be hosted by Algeria next month.

Following his meeting with the Algerian president, Safadi said, “I was honored to convey the greetings of His Majesty King Abdullah to his brother, His Excellency President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, and deliver a message from His Majesty confirming the keenness to increase cooperation and enhance the historical brotherly relations between the two brotherly countries. It also dealt with joint efforts to activate joint Arab action to confront challenges that surround us all, and to solve our Arab causes, foremost of which is the Palestinian cause, which represents the first central cause for all of us.”

Safadi lauded Algeria’s efforts to achieve Palestinian reconciliation, and welcomed Algeria’s declaration, which was issued by the Palestinian factions after their meeting in Algeria, noting that the president also stressed “keenness to increase cooperation with Jordan and open new horizons for it in various fields, and sent his greetings to his brother, His Majesty King Abdullah.”
