Five-magnitude quake hits Kahramanmaras, Turkiye

Amman: A 5.0 magnitude quake Friday hit Kahramanmaras, southern Turkey, Anadolu Agency cited the Turkish Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD) as saying.

Anadolu Agency reported that the quake occurred at a depth of 6.95 kilometres below the earth’s surface. Its epicentre was the Oniki Shabat district.

On February 6, two quakes of magnitude 7.7 and 7.6 struck southern Turkiye and northern Syria, followed by thousands of aftershocks.
