Speaker of the Senate Faisal Fayez on Tuesday welcomed Speaker of the Libyan House of Representatives Aguila Saleh and an accompanying delegation at a meeting to discuss developments in the North African country.
During the meeting, which was attended by Libyan Ambassador Abdul Basit al-Badri, Fayez reiterated Jordan’s support of the Libyan people’s choices to achieve development and prosperity and restore the country’s unity and stability.
The Senate chief spoke of the importance of an Arab solution to the Libyan crisis, adding that he would coordinate with Arab parliaments to form a committee to help put an end to crises in Arab countries.
Saleh gave a briefing on the latest developments in Libya, expressing his gratitude for Jordan’s constant support of his country and its people.
Prospects for cooperation between the two countries were also tackled during the meeting.
