Amman: Seven-time Formula One World Champion Lewis Hamilton on Tuesday visited the Jordan Red Crescent (JRC) headquarters in Amman to observe humanitarian relief efforts for the Gaza Strip, conducted in cooperation with the British Red Cross. The visit included a tour of the JRC Hospital and the Madaba Logistics Center, which serves as a primary hub for collecting and dispatching aid to Gaza.
According to Jordan News Agency, Hamilton shared statements on his official Facebook page highlighting the human suffering faced by civilians while showcasing the resilience of families and the dedication of medical and humanitarian personnel. He emphasized the struggle for survival under extreme conditions and praised the work of doctors and the efforts of the British Red Cross, the Jordan Red Crescent, and the Palestinian Red Crescent in delivering aid.
Hamilton noted that current aid levels to the Gaza Strip are insufficient to meet growing needs and called for guaranteed safe and rapid access for humanitarian organizations to affected areas. He urged the international community to intensify humanitarian support, stressing the importance of international solidarity and advocacy for human rights and the right to life to end the crisis.
JRC President Mohammed Hadid stated that the visit underscores the JRC's international reputation in relief work and demonstrates growing confidence in the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement's capacity to provide vital assistance to Gaza.
