EU Welcomes Arab Recovery and Reconstruction Plan for Gaza

Cairo: The European Union has welcomed the Arab Recovery and Reconstruction Plan adopted by the extraordinary Arab summit in Cairo. In a statement issued on Sunday, the EU described the plan as a serious foundation for discussions on Gaza’s future and said it would engage with its Arab partners to explore the proposed ideas.

According to Jordan News Agency, the EU stressed that any plan for Gaza’s future must provide credible solutions for reconstruction, governance, and security. It emphasized that recovery and rebuilding efforts should be anchored in a solid political and security framework acceptable to both Palestinians and Israelis, ensuring peace and security for both sides.

The statement reaffirmed the EU’s continued political and financial support for the Palestinian Authority and its reform agenda, aimed at preparing it to assume governance responsibilities in Gaza.
