Muscat: The European Union has expressed serious concern over Israel’s new plan to assert control over the Gaza Strip, cautioning against its potential humanitarian consequences. During a press briefing on Monday, Anwar Al-Anouni, spokesperson for the European Commission, urged Israeli forces to exercise maximum restraint.
According to Jordan News Agency, Al-Anouni stated, “The EU is deeply concerned about the anticipated expansion of Israeli military operations in Gaza, which will undoubtedly lead to more casualties and suffering for the Palestinian people.” The EU’s warning comes amid rising international alarm over the deteriorating humanitarian conditions in Gaza, as calls grow for de-escalation and protection of civilians.
