Environment Ministry, Partners Launch Clean-Up Campaign in Madaba

Madaba: The Ministry of Environment, through the Environmental Protection Office in Madaba Governorate, on Tuesday organized, in cooperation with the German Jordanian University and several official and service entities, a comprehensive clean-up campaign in the Central Mamounia area of the governorate, within the executive program of the cleanliness strategy and the reduction of random waste dumping.

According to Jordan News Agency, Minister of Environment Ayman Suleiman, who patronized the campaign, emphasized that such initiatives reflect the growing awareness of the importance of protecting the environment and strengthening social responsibility. He noted that addressing random waste dumping is a national priority due to its direct impact on public health and the civilizational image.

He affirmed the ministry's continued support for awareness and field programs in cooperation with educational institutions and local bodies, contributing to a culture of environmental preservation and achieving sustainable results.

The campaign saw participation from staff and machinery of Madaba Municipality, the Madaba Joint Services Council, the Royal Department for Environmental Protection, and the community police. Additionally, the Madaba governor, the governorate's police director, the university president, and university students participated, enhancing institutional partnership for environmental issues.

The campaign included extensive field cleaning efforts, removing waste and debris from streets and vacant lands. It also involved distributing environmentally friendly cloth bags to vehicles to reduce random littering, encourage responsible environmental behavior, and promote a culture of maintaining public cleanliness.

The campaign aims to promote civil behavior among youth and other societal segments, improve public cleanliness conditions, and curb random waste dumping. These efforts contribute to preserving public health and enhancing the governorate's civilizational appearance, as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen environmental awareness and entrench community partnership in environmental protection.
