Environment Ministry and ASEZA Strengthen Sustainability Efforts in Aqaba

Aqaba:Minister of Environment Aiman Suleiman and Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA) Chief Commissioner Shadi Majali met on Tuesday to enhance environmental cooperation and sustainable resource management in the region.

According to Jordan News Agency, the two parties issued a joint statement emphasizing the need to coordinate efforts to advance conservation initiatives that align with Aqaba's distinct economic, tourism, and ecological characteristics.

As part of the initiative, Suleiman conducted a field tour of significant local sustainability facilities. His first visit was to the 9Rs Circular Economy Center, where he assessed waste management, reuse, and recycling operations aimed at reducing waste and improving resource efficiency.

Additionally, Suleiman visited the Aqaba Marine Reserve to evaluate biodiversity protection programs and efforts to preserve marine ecosystems. He affirmed the ministry's dedication to working with ASEZA to optimize environmental operations and protect natural resources for the benefit of future generations.
