Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, Saleh Kharabsheh, on Wednesday discussed with the US Ambassador to Jordan, Henry Wooster, ways to enhance joint cooperation prospects in the energy fields to serve the sector.

Speaking at the meeting, Kharabsheh presented the ministry’s plans and future initiatives in the field of regional electric connectivity, especially supplying Lebanon with electricity from Jordan’s grid through Syria, “in a way that alleviates the energy crisis that Lebanon is witnessing.”

The minister also reviewed the regional electric power interconnection projects, and their impact on promoting economic integration in the region, in a way that improves its people’s living standards.

Stressing the “deep-rooted” existing cooperation relations between the two friendly countries, he lauded the U.S. support to Jordan’s energy sector and its impact on strengthening local resources in the total power mix.
