Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi on Monday announced the abolition of the state of emergency that has been in place for years nationwide.
“The Egyptian people were the real maker of this decision over the past years, through their sincere participation in development and construction efforts,” al-Sisi said in a statement.
He pointed out to “heroes without them, we wouldn’t have reached security and stability.”
