Arab Republic of Egypt President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi inaugurated the first edition of the Egypt International Airshow yesterday. The three-day event is taking place at El Alamein International Airport in northern Egypt. Participating are over 300 companies from the world’s largest aircraft and aerospace manufacturers, representing more 100 countries including the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The inauguration was attended by prominent figures such as General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) President Abdulaziz bin Abdullah Al-Duailej; the deputy commander of the Air Force, Major General Talal bin Suleiman Al-Ghamdi; Saudi Ambassador to Egypt Saleh bin Eid Al-Husseini; and the military attaché in Egypt, Brigadier General Abdul Karim bin Abdulrahman Al-Sudais.
At the inauguration, a briefing was given on the various aircraft participating in the airshow, which included the Saudi F-15 system, the Typhoon aircraft, and the Saudi Hawks team.
Following the briefing, President El-Sisi and attendees toured the exhib
ition hall, which showcased pavilions and exhibits of national and international aircraft and aerospace manufacturing companies, including the Saudi Arabian Military Industries (SAMI) pavilion. A presentation highlighted SAMI’s range of solutions and systems, such as a facility protection system using artificial intelligence (AI) and drones, as well as the company’s capabilities in design, development, production, technical support, maintenance, and manufacturing of parts for the F-15SA aircraft.
Attendees enjoyed professional air shows, including a solo performance by the Saudi Eurofighter Typhoon, which demonstrated precision and accuracy.
The Egypt International Airshow aims to bolster the manufacturing and digitalization systems in the aviation, defense, and space sectors. It provides an international platform for the aviation industry and space agencies to discuss achievements in space exploration, satellite communications, and civil and military applications of space technology.
