Efforts Intensify to Boost Export Capabilities of 152 Jordanian Companies

Amman: During its first meeting in 2025, the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Supply, led by Secretary-General Dana Zoubi, deliberated on the implementation plan for the National Executive Committee for the National Export Strategy for 2023-2025. The meeting, held on Wednesday, focused on enhancing the export competitiveness of Jordanian companies and their entry into new markets.

According to Jordan News Agency, the committee is advancing the second phase of the Export Acceleration Program, which provides financial support to 52 industrial companies to help them execute their export plans. The participants also introduced a variety of initiatives to support exporting companies, particularly through the Export Support Program. This program aims to assist 100 companies owned by businesswomen by offering technical compliance assistance with international standards and conducting product quality assessments to enhance their competitiveness.

The committee’s strategy is to increase the export of Jordanian products to developed markets by aligning local legislation and technical procedures with international norms. On the Arab level, the statement highlighted that two trade fairs were organized in Iraq and Qatar in the year’s first quarter, alongside participation in an exhibition in Libya.

To improve logistical infrastructure efficiency and facilitate cross-border trade, a report was released addressing non-tariff trade barriers. Furthermore, the team provided updates on a draft feasibility study aimed at enhancing the handling processes of perishable goods at Queen Alia International Airport.

The committee has agreed to initiate several initiatives to promote and expand the export of Jordanian services to international markets. These initiatives include conducting awareness workshops for companies on market information for trading partners and registering service establishments in Jordan on the Jordan Export Platform.

Zoubi emphasized that the discussions reflect the shared commitment of both public and private sectors to fulfill the strategy’s goals and achieve significant progress in Jordanian export development.
