Crown Prince Meets Turkiye President to Strengthen Bilateral Ties

Ankara: His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II met with Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in Ankara, as announced by a royal court statement. His Royal Highness conveyed greetings from His Majesty King Abdullah II to President Erdogan, along with an invitation for the president to visit Jordan.

According to Jordan News Agency, the Crown Prince emphasized Jordan’s commitment to enhancing its long-standing relationship with Turkey and its people. The meeting focused on expanding economic cooperation and collaboration in education, tourism, vocational and technical training, military coordination, and counter-terrorism efforts.

The discussions also highlighted the importance of ongoing coordination between Jordan and Turkey on regional issues to support mutual interests and regional stability. Both leaders reiterated their countries’ shared stance on the Palestinian cause and underscored the need for rebuilding Gaza without displacing Palestinians.

The talks addressed escalating tensions in the West Bank and violations of holy sites in Jerusalem. The leaders called for increased efforts to create a political horizon for achieving a just and comprehensive peace, based on a two-state solution. They emphasized the need for close coordination through the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation and the Arab League Contact Group on Gaza.

The Crown Prince commended Turkey’s humanitarian aid to Gaza and its support of UNRWA, affirming Jordan’s commitment to facilitating aid delivery from Turkey to the Strip. On Syria, both leaders expressed support for Syria’s security, stability, sovereignty, and territorial integrity, as well as for the new Syrian administration’s rebuilding efforts.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi and Director of the Office of the Crown Prince Zaid Baqain.
