Crown Prince Inaugurates Jordan Digital Health Centre in Salt

Amman: His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II inaugurated the Jordan Digital Health Centre in Salt, established to enhance medical services for citizens through the National Council for Future Technology’s efforts.

According to Jordan News Agency, the Crown Prince toured the Abu Dhabi Fund for Development-funded centre. The facility includes digital units for dialysis, radiology, intensive care, and telemedicine services, aiming to save time and effort for patients and improve access to specialised care for rare medical specialities.

His Royal Highness received a briefing from Health Minister Firas Al Hawari on the remote medical services provided by the centre. Patients can communicate with doctors through voice or video calls for medical consultations following diagnosis.

The minister explained that the centre is currently connected to five major public hospitals and three healthcare centres in the first phase. The second phase will expand to include more public hospitals and healthcare centres.

According to Hawari, the centre monitors the capacity of public hospitals and pharmaceutical warehouses to ensure the optimal distribution of patients and reduce overcrowding and waste of medical supplies and medicines.

The Crown Prince also attended a meeting at the centre for the National Council for Future Technology’s digital committee on the health sector. He was briefed on the council’s future plans and strategies to improve health services further.

In addition, the Crown Prince visited Salt Comprehensive Healthcare Centre, recently rehabilitated, to examine the services provided, including the implementation of electronic payment services.
