Crown Prince Engages in Economic Discussions in Tokyo

Tokyo: His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II convened a series of meetings in Tokyo to explore avenues for enhancing economic and investment partnerships between Jordan and Japan.

According to Jordan News Agency, the discussions focused on the goals of Jordan’s National Council for Future Technology and opportunities for collaboration in fostering economic growth and improving the digital skills of Jordanians.

In a meeting with Sasaki Mikio, chairman of the Japan-Jordan Friendship Society and the Middle East Institute of Japan, the Crown Prince acknowledged the strong bilateral relations and praised Japan’s efforts in organizing the upcoming Osaka Expo 2025.

During talks with Japan Robot Association President Kubota Tetsuya, the Crown Prince addressed the development of policies for robot use, emphasizing ethics, safety standards, and community integration. He also highlighted Jordan’s pool of talented youth skilled in technical and technological fields and the country’s notable rate of entrepreneurship.

The discussions also covered potential institutional collaborations between the Japan Robot Association and Jordanian universities in robotics education, research, and applications across high-impact sectors like healthcare, agriculture, and automation.

In a meeting with Omoto Masayuki, president and CEO of Marubeni, one of Japan’s leading trading and investment firms, the Crown Prince explored cooperation opportunities in energy, infrastructure, and ICT sectors.
