Amman: The “Dinti” app, developed by Hashemite University students Suhaib Khazaleh, Ahmed Jaber, Mira Abu Rahma, and Mira Melhem, secured the top spot in the Crown Prince Award for the Best Government Services Application. The app facilitates a connection between dental students at Jordanian universities and patients requiring free dental care, thereby benefiting both parties-students gain practical training, while patients receive necessary treatments.
According to Jordan News Agency, the announcement was made during the award ceremony for the fourth session, organized by the Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship in collaboration with the Crown Prince Foundation. The event was attended by Tamam Mango, the executive director of the Crown Prince Foundation, and was sponsored by Sami Smeirat, the Minister of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship.
The “Dalilak” app, developed by students from the Middle East University, the University of Jordan, and Al-Balqa Applied University, finished in second place. This application serves as an AI-supported virtual assistant that provides citizens with guidance on government services, such as obtaining a business license and renewing a passport.
Zarqa University students secured third place with the Sustainmate app, which offers engineers and architects tools to select sustainable building materials through sophisticated search filters and AI assessments. The app includes a library of materials and enables communication with vendors for information and pricing.
The “Badir” application, created by students from Al-Hussein Technical University and Al-Hussein Bin Talal University, took fourth place. This app utilizes AI to report infrastructure issues by scanning photographs. It also allows users to vote on reports and make donations, fostering community engagement and transparency.
Zarqa University students took fifth place with MedShare, an app designed to facilitate medication donations, aiming to enhance drug security and reduce waste. The app features donation processes, a digital pharmacy, and validation checks, with future plans to incorporate AI and mapping technologies.
