Davos: His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II met with United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees Barham Salih on Wednesday. The meeting took place on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum in Davos, as noted in a royal court statement.
According to Jordan News Agency, the Crown Prince congratulated Salih on his recent election as High Commissioner for Refugees and extended his best wishes for a successful term. The discussions focused on enhancing cooperation between Jordan and the UNHCR to ensure the continued delivery of services to refugees.
The meeting also highlighted the necessity for the international community to fulfill its responsibilities towards countries hosting refugees. This support is crucial for these countries to maintain the provision of essential assistance and services to refugee communities.
The meeting was attended by Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Zeina Toukan, Minister of Investment Tareq Abu Ghazaleh, and Director of the Office of the Crown Prince Zaid Baqain.
