Crackdown Removes Water Theft Cases on Desert Highway-WAJ

Amman: The Ministry of Water and Irrigation's Water Authority of Jordan (WAJ) seized 3 tanks, 7 pumps, 16 sprayers, and an illegal water pipeline on the edge of the main Amman-Aqaba Desert Highway. These illegal fixtures were removed, and official reports were prepared to initiate legal action into the cases.

According to Jordan News Agency, the ministry, in cooperation with Aqaba Water Company and the Public Security Directorate, conducted a crackdown on the Desert Highway in Hasa district. The operation aimed to remove repeated illegal encroachments on the main water infrastructure supplying drinking water to citizens.

The statement revealed that these connections were being used to supply water for washing cars and trucks traveling on the main Amman-Aqaba Desert Highway.
