Commission launches campaign to monitor adherence to tax-free kerosene

The Energy and Minerals Regulatory Commission (EMRC) on Tuesday launched a nationwide campaign to monitor fuel stations’ commitment to selling kerosene at the declared price.

Earlier today, the Cabinet decided to freeze the kerosene tax during the winter season to alleviate the burden on citizens, especially those with low income, under the directives of His Majesty King Abdullah II.

Chairman of the EMRC Ziyad Saaida said that the commission’s staff will continue their regulatory, supervisory and field inspection roles to ensure adherence to the new decision as well as the commitment to licensing requirements, implementing emergency plans and ensuring that all necessary measures are taken to continue supplying the Kingdom with its energy needs.
