Cold weather to persist despite rise in temperatures

A slight rise in temperatures is forecast on Sunday, but the weather will remain cold and partly cloudy countrywide, with a chance for scattered showers in the northern and central regions, the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD) said in its daily update.

With a further climb in mercury levels, cold but sunny weather conditions will prevail on Monday and Tuesday. Clouds will appear at low altitudes and winds will be westerly moderate.

As we head into Wednesday, the Kingdom will be affected by a cold and wet air mass accompanied by a depression centered over Cyprus, pushing thermometers down and bringing chilly and cloudy conditions with rainfall.

Today, mercury in Amman will range between a high of 10 degrees Celsius and a low of 4C at night, meanwhile Aqaba will see a fair 18C, dropping to 12C at night.
