Gaza: Eight Palestinian infants have died from the cold and the lack of shelter in Gaza amid an ongoing Israeli war, UNRWA reported on Monday.
According to Jordan News Agency, UNRWA stated that over 7,700 newborns in Gaza need “lifesaving” care. The dire conditions in the region have exacerbated the vulnerability of infants, who are particularly susceptible to cold-related illnesses. The lack of adequate shelter and heating has intensified the crisis, with families struggling to provide basic necessities for their children.
UNRWA has highlighted the urgent need for international assistance to address the humanitarian crisis in Gaza. The agency has called for immediate action to ensure that newborns receive the necessary medical care and support to survive in the harsh conditions. The ongoing conflict has severely limited access to essential resources, further endangering the lives of the most vulnerable population.
Efforts to provide aid are being hindered by the ongoing hostilities, which have disrupted supply lines and made it challenging to deliver humanitarian assistance. UNRWA and other aid organizations are working tirelessly to overcome these obstacles and deliver critical support to those in need.
