Amman: The Chinese Embassy in Amman organized a reception on Wednesday evening to commemorate the 99th anniversary of the founding of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA). The event was attended by military and civilian officials, diplomats, journalists, and invited guests.
According to Jordan News Agency, Chinese Defense Attach© to Jordan, Senior Colonel Li Pengfei, commended Jordan's stability role in the Middle East under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah II. He highlighted Jordan's constructive efforts in addressing regional issues, notably the Palestinian cause.
Li stated that China is prepared to enhance communication and coordination with Jordan to jointly safeguard regional peace, stability, and development, describing Jordan as a sincere friend and strategic partner. On the Palestinian issue, he emphasized the two-State solution as the only fair and recognized resolution, asserting that any new arrangements should support rather than undermine this solution.
He reaffirmed China's ongoing support for Palestine's pursuit of legitimate national rights and its commitment to facilitating international efforts to restore justice for the Palestinian people. Addressing regional and international developments, Li expressed concern over continued tensions in the Middle East amidst a turbulent international environment.
Li reiterated China's opposition to actions infringing upon sovereignty, security, and territorial integrity of other nations. He stressed that military conflicts are not a solution, and escalating regional situations are not in the global community's interest. He outlined China's approach, emphasizing peaceful development, international solidarity, rejection of force, and working towards a shared future for humanity. Li affirmed that China will continue to be a force for peace, stability, and progress worldwide.
