CARC chief chairs Arab Civil Aviation Organization meeting

The Executive Council of the Arab Civil Aviation Organization (ACAO) in its 63rd session concluded on Wednesday, which was chaired by its vice-president and Chairman of Jordan’s Civil Aviation Regulatory commission (CARC), Haitham Mesto.

During the meeting, which was held in the Moroccan capital, Rabat, Mesto stressed the importance of holding the event for its legal necessity, per ACAO’s requirements.

The participants said the the in-person meeting sends “a strong message from the ACAO to decision-makers in the region and across the world that normalcy is looming,” said ACAO statement.

The Arab aviation leaders also stressed the need to lay out “innovative” solutions to create an “appropriate” climate for the gradual resumption of air transport, noted the statement.

The discussions went over many issues, foremost are measures taken to curb coronavirus pandemic, and need to stimulate air transport sector, at the Arab and international levels, read the statement.

The Jordanian delegation will participate in ACAO’s Ordinary General Assembly in its 26th session, which is scheduled from July 1 to 2 in Rabat, to asess achievements made on the organization’s programs and identify its future course.
