Cabinet okays 2021-2025 digital transformation strategy

The Cabinet on Wednesday approved the 2021-2025 National Strategy for Digital Transformation and its executive plan.

The strategy is consistent with national policies and strategies and global digitization trends, according to a prime ministry statement which indicated that the document will serve as a legislative and regulatory framework for the nation’s digitization drive.

The strategy aims to enhance transparency and openness, improve the quality of services and make them more effective, sustainable, and reliable, in addition to improving performance efficiency and reducing time and costs among other goals.

It also seeks to strengthen the public-private partnership by supporting the private sector to participate in the design and development of government services.
