Jerash: The Cabinet, during its session in Jerash governorate, announced the approval of settlements for 1,014 pending cases between taxpayers and the Income and Sales Tax Department. This decision is part of the government’s continued efforts to assist business owners, taxpayers, and investors in maintaining their operations by rectifying their tax statuses.
According to Jordan News Agency, Interior Minister Mazen Faraya briefed the Cabinet on the 2025 second-quarter statistics regarding individuals who obtained Jordanian citizenship through investment. In this period, 13 investors were granted citizenship, including five Syrians, five Iraqis, two Lebanese nationals, and one Pakistani, with their investments totaling over $23 million. These ventures have provided employment to 642 Jordanians.
Additionally, three investors acquired residency by purchasing real estate in the same quarter, contributing more than $1 million in investments. Among these investors are two Palestinians and one Canadian. Overall, as of July 10, a total of 561 investors have been granted Jordanian citizenship.
In a press conference, Momani emphasized Jordan’s diplomatic efforts in supporting Syria, highlighting the country’s commitment to respecting Syria’s sovereignty. He affirmed that Syria’s security is crucial for Jordan, and the Kingdom seeks to enhance cooperation with Syria across various sectors.
Momani also reiterated Jordan’s firm stance on the situation in Gaza, prioritizing the cessation of aggression, the delivery of humanitarian aid, and support for the Palestinian people amid the humanitarian crisis.
