A Cabinet session held Sunday, chaired by Prime Minister Dr. Bisher Khasawneh, approved the mandating reasons for a draft law regulating appointment process in ministries and government departments for the fiscal year 2022, and referred the bill to the Legislation and Opinion Bureau with “urgency status,” in preparation for its endorsement.
Under the Cabinet’s decision, appointment is scheduled to kick off to fill the updated and vacant jobs for all ministries, government departments and units for 2022, starting from 1/8/2022.
For this purpose, the decision stipulated that the necessary financial allocations should be available, in coordination with Jordan General Budget Department.
Meanwhile, employees’ inter-department movements will take effect as of 1/7/2022, in a bid to avoid a deficit in wages and bonuses in the budgets of ministries and gov’t institutions and units for 2022.
Employee transfer, promotion and rank adjustment decisions that were sent to the General Budget Department during the final preparation of the draft law will be implemented.
In addition, the Council of Ministers approved the mandating reasons for a draft amending the bylaw to license Jordanian private universities and their establishment for 2022, aimed to stimulate investment and solve ownership problems that arose when submitting applications to establish these higher education institutions.
The Council also approved the mandating reasons for 2022 fundraising bylaw, with the aim of updating the current regulations and addressing some shortcomings, primarily taking into account electronic developments in the fundraising process.
The new bylaw also aims to enable families and their members to be self-reliant by setting up small productive projects from donation funds, and enable charitable societies to improve the level of services provided in their business areas.
Moreover, the Cabinet approved the updated national strategy to reduce child labor 2022–2030, and its 2022 implementation plan, and tasked the competent authorities to implement its content, each according to its jurisdiction.
The strategy aims to take into account the internal and external changes and developments that reflected on child labor, in addition to the amendments made to national legislation, specifically the 2014 Juvenile Law and and update surveys and statistics related to the child labor issue.
