C4IR Discusses Future of Quantum Technologies, Applications in the Kingdom


Riyadh: The Saudi Centre for the Fourth Industrial Revolution (C4IR), affiliated with the World Economic Forum, in collaboration with King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology and King Salman Science Oasis, is slated to hold a two-day scientific event, starting on Wednesday, on the future of quantum technologies and their applications in the Kingdom, and the role education and awareness play in adopting them.

The event will be accompanied by an exhibition at the oasis headquarters, to mark World Quantum Day, which is observed annually on April 14.

The event aims to raise awareness about the accelerating impact of quantum technologies, including quantum computing, sensing, and communication, and their applications in various sectors of the economy, to boost sustainable development.

It also aims to stress the importance of expanding quantum science disciplines in higher education and integrating them in general education curricula, to provide future generations with the qualifications required by the jo

The event will include panel sessions in which officials and specialists, including businesspeople and academics, will take part.

The exhibition will feature several international and local companies, and highlight the latest developments in quantum technologies and their applications in communications, computing, and sensing.

There will also be live and virtual presentations on quantum science, its origins, basic concepts, and its impact on people’s daily lives.
