Budget deficit up to JD1.005 billion, debts up – Finance ministry

The budget recorded in the first seven months of this year a deficit of JD1.005 billion after grants, compared with JD521.9 million for the same period of 2021.

 

According to the Finance Ministry’s monthly bulletin, the budget deficit before grants this year in the first seven months of 2022 stood at JD1.087 billion, compared with JD1.077 Billion during the same period of 2021.

 

Domestic revenues decreased by JD35 million in the first seven months of 2022, reaching JD4.882 billion, compared with JD4.917 billion last year.

 

Expenditure witnessed a rise of JD448.6 million to JD5.888 billion in the first seven months of 2022, compared with some JD5.439 billion during the same period of 2021.

 

Meanwhile, the public debt stood at JD29,749 billion, which constitutes 89.8 per cent of the estimated GDP for the end of July, compared with JD28,763 billion that constituted 89.5 of the GDP during the same period of 2021.
