Washington: US President Joe Biden Friday confirmed his “intention” to run for president in 2024 for a second term, adding that he would not announce his candidacy just yet, according to the Washington Post.
In an interview with ABC News, Biden, 80, said, “My intention has been, and it has been from the beginning, to run” for a second term.”
Hours earlier, US First Lady Jill Biden told international news agencies that President Biden had decided on his candidacy, adding that when and where to announce his candidacy is not confirmed.
Biden said, “There are a lot of other things that we need to accomplish in the short term before I start campaigning.”
