Amman: The Ministry of Industry, Trade, and Supply has announced that the price of barley for May has been set at JD240 per ton, including sales tax, for livestock breeders of cattle, poultry, camels, and horses, as well as companies importing live livestock. This move aims to standardize the cost of barley across the livestock sector for the coming month.
According to Jordan News Agency, the subsidized price for sheep breeders remains at JD175 per ton, unchanged from the previous two months, as confirmed by the ministry. These prices have been determined based on official lists provided by the Ministry of Agriculture, ensuring alignment with current agricultural standards and needs.
In addition, under Decision No. 48 of 2025, the Ministry will enforce a fixed fee of JD1,450 per vehicle exporting live local sheep. This fee is in accordance with Paragraph (B) of Article 6 of the 2001 Import and Export Law (No. 21), aimed at regulating the export market for local sheep.
The price of subsidized bran for sheep breeders will also remain steady at JD77 per ton. However, the cost for other livestock breeders, including those of cattle, poultry, camels, and horses, has been increased by JD3 to JD157 per ton, including sales tax. This adjustment follows the ministry’s regulations to balance the economic impact on various livestock sectors.
The ministry has instructed relevant authorities to implement this decision starting May 1, with the pricing policy set to last for one month, ensuring that breeders and importers can plan their operations accordingly.
