ASEZA Coordinates Efforts to Boost Trade Flow Through Aqaba

Amman: Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA) held a coordination meeting on Wednesday with government agencies and strategic partners in the transport and logistics sector to discuss enhancing the flow of trade and supply chains, and facilitating the movement of domestic and transit trade through Aqaba.

According to Jordan News Agency, participants in the meeting, chaired by ASEZA Chief Commissioner Shadi Majali, brought together representatives of Aqaba Development Corporation, Customs Department, Aqaba Ports Management and Operation Company, Aqaba Container Terminal, Jordan Standards and Metrology Organization, Jordan Food and Drug Administration, Ayla Cement Company, Jordan Shipping Agents Association, and General Syndicate of Customs Clearance and Freight Forwarders.

Majali emphasized ASEZA's commitment to strengthening partnerships and coordination among all relevant stakeholders to improve trade facilitation, reduce processing times, and enhance the efficiency of logistics services, which would have a positive impact on the business and investment environment in Aqaba.

The meeting addressed executive measures to expedite handling operations, streamline inland commercial transport and transit trade procedures, and eliminate obstacles that might hinder the smooth flow of goods, ensuring the provision of more efficient and faster services.

Participants highlighted the importance of continued coordination and integration among various stakeholders to enhance Aqaba's competitiveness as a regional logistics hub, improve the efficiency of the port system, increase trade and handling activity, and support supply chains.

These measures are expected to benefit the national economy and reinforce Aqaba's role as a key trade gateway for Jordan and the region.
