Amman: Turnover on the Amman Stock Exchange (ASE) reached JD7.6 million on Thursday as 2.6 million shares exchanged hands through 2,658 transactions. The trading activity led to an increase in the general share price index, which climbed to 3,986 points, marking a rise of 0.43% compared to the previous session.
According to Jordan News Agency, out of the 100 companies that were traded, 43 experienced gains while 25 saw a decline in their share prices compared to their previous closing figures. The financial sector index recorded the highest increase, rising by 0.52%, followed closely by the industrial index, which went up by 0.34%. The services sector also showed positive momentum with its benchmark gaining 0.18%.
These figures reflect a strong day of trading on the ASE, highlighting investor confidence across various sectors. The upward trends in the financial and industrial sectors, in particular, suggest a robust market performance that could continue to encourage trading activities in the coming sessions.
