Amman: The Amman Stock Exchange (ASE) closed higher Wednesday, as the general share price index gained 0.21 percent to settle at 4,056 points.
According to Jordan News Agency, the total trading volume reached JD22.5 million, with 5.6 million shares changing hands across 4,960 transactions. This activity reflects a modest yet positive movement in the market.
At the sectoral level, the services and financial sectors showed promising performance with their indexes rising by 0.52% and 0.25%, respectively. However, the industrial index experienced a decline, slipping by 0.35%.
Out of the 95 companies that were traded on the ASE, 40 companies posted gains, while 29 recorded losses. Meanwhile, 26 companies' stock values remained stable, indicating a mixed but generally positive sentiment in the market.
