Army foils smuggling, infiltration attempts

The Northern Military Zone, in coordination with other security agencies, thwarted several attempts to infiltrate the Kingdom’s borders and to smuggle large quantities of narcotics and weapons from Syria into the Kingdom.

A Jordan Armed Forces – Arab Army source said that border guards applied the rules of engagement, forcing the inflators to retreat to Syrian territory.

After searching the area, 497 palm-sized sheets of hashish, 61,000 Captagon pills, 4 kilograms of crystal meth and a number of weapons were seized, the source added, noting that the contraband were transferred to competent authorities.

The source emphasized that the armed forces will not tolerate any smuggling or infiltration attempts.
