Amman: The Eastern Military Zone successfully thwarted two attempts to smuggle a substantial quantity of narcotics using electronically guided balloons on Tuesday.
According to Jordan News Agency, the Jordan Armed Forces reported that Border Guard units detected the balloons and managed to intercept them. In coordination with security agencies and the Anti-Narcotics Department, the units brought down the balloons and their payloads inside Jordanian territory.
The intercepted narcotics have been handed over to the relevant authorities for the necessary legal procedures to be carried out.
